As the polls close in the Scottish Independence Referendum, the Serenity Cafe, a community cafe run by people in recovery from drugs and alcohol, invites you our events.
On Thursday 18th September 2014 from 9pm-11pm  there will be a Quiz Night.  Have fun sharing your knowledge and get your supper too, (delicious food for sale in the cafe).  Team of four is £12.  Then the cafe is open to the wee small hours watching with baited breath ……. how will Scotland have voted?  Snacks, tea and coffee will be for sale.
On Friday 19th September from 8am you can enjoy either a Full Scottish Breakfast or the Great British Banger. Your choice may depend on the result.
If you’ve had a lie in and just want tea and cake, then later on Friday 19th September from 11 am to 3 pm come to our Cake Wars bake sale! Bump up your blood sugar after a late night with our tremendous selection of cakes and goodies baked by our volunteers and staff, who practiced all summer in our Cake Wars challenge. Cakes to take away for a weekend of indulgence, at great prices.
Catriona Grant, Project Manager at the cafe said today;
“There has so much debate about the referendum that what ever way it goes we want to be part of this important moment in Scotland’s political history.  We are well placed to be a safe and fun place for folks who have come to Edinburgh to see what happens but also if sitting in the house by yourself and want to be part of it. It will be fun whether you are celebrating or commiserating.”

The Serenity Cafe opened its doors as a community cafe in April 2012, at Serenity Cafe, Jackson’s Entry (next to BBC Scotland and Hemma), 111 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8PJ.  Telephone is 0131 556 8765.  Catriona can be contacted at catriona@comas.org.uk or on mobile 07717 204426
